Why a spreadsheet

Your financial history shouldn't live in someone else's app.

Most money apps keep your financial history on their servers. Aggregate Finance keeps your financial history in files you own: a Google Sheet in your Drive, an Excel workbook in your OneDrive, and the downloads on your device. If you cancel your subscription, nothing is deleted from your Google Sheet, Excel workbook or downloads.

Aggregate Finance compared with app-based money trackers
Aggregate Finance A typical money app
Where your history lives Files you own, in Google Drive, OneDrive and on your device Their servers
If you stop paying You keep your spreadsheet and files You lose access, unless they offer an export
If the product changes hands Nothing happens to your file Your history goes to the new owner
Ads, offers and upsells None, even on the free sample Often how the free tier pays for itself
Changing how your data looks Your own formulas and tabs Whatever the app allows
What you pay for The banks you connect, nothing else A monthly tier, sometimes plus add-ons

How it works

Set up in about two minutes.

  1. Connect your banks

Sign in to each bank through Plaid. We never see your bank username or password.

  2. Choose where your data goes

Google Sheets, Excel in OneDrive, or both. You can also download your data as Excel, LibreOffice or CSV files.

  3. Transactions stay up to date

Your banks sync daily, and an optional weekly email, which you can customize, sums up your week. If a bank needs you to sign in again, we’ll notify you.

Security

Secure by design, not by promise.

Your bank gives us read-only access to your accounts, nothing more. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every account is protected by two-step verification, with a passkey or an authenticator app.

  • Read-only. We can’t move money or change an account.
  • Your bank login stays private. We never see your username or password.
  • Only the files we make. We can’t open anything else in your Google Drive or OneDrive.

How we keep your data safe

Switching from another app

Bring your history with you.

Moving from another budgeting app? Export your transactions from your current budgeting app, then import the file into Aggregate Finance. After the import, the banks you connect to Aggregate Finance add your new transactions.

  • Go back further than your bank. When you connect a bank, we get its last 12 months of transactions. An export from your old app can go back years.
  • No duplicates. Where your import and a connected bank cover the same days, we match the transactions, so each one shows up once.
  • Add accounts Plaid can’t connect. Import Apple Card statements, or a CSV, OFX or QFX file from your bank’s website.

FAQ

Questions people ask first.

Will my bank work?

Most US banks and card issuers do, through Plaid.

Apple Card can’t be connected, but you can import its monthly statements: in Wallet, open the statement and choose Export Transactions. Importing a file also works for any bank that offers CSV, OFX or QFX downloads, and for cash you type in.

Does Aggregate Finance work with Excel?

Yes. Connect OneDrive for a workbook with the same tabs and charts, updated after every sync while the workbook is closed.

You can also download an Excel file anytime. LibreOffice (.ods) and CSV downloads are available too.

Can I edit the spreadsheet?

Yes. Your own tabs are never touched.

Every sync rewrites the Aggregate Finance tabs from your bank data and replaces any edits, except in the Notes column.

In Excel, a chart or pivot table on an Aggregate Finance tab pauses updates until you remove the chart or pivot table. Your dashboard names the tab.

How often does my spreadsheet update?

Daily, or anytime from your dashboard.

What if my bank disconnects?

We’ll email you to sign in again. Nothing in your sheet is lost.

What happens if I cancel?

Syncing stops, and your banks are disconnected after a short grace period. Your spreadsheet stays in your Drive and your workbook in your OneDrive, and you can still download your data.

What happens if I delete my account?

Go to Account, then Delete account. We disconnect your banks, cancel your subscription, remove our access to your Google account and OneDrive, and delete your account, financial data, settings and encryption key. Backed-up copies become unreadable within 14 days.

Your spreadsheet stays in your Drive and your workbook in your OneDrive. Stripe keeps payment records, as the law requires.
